Skypath is an initiative from South Ayrshire Council’s Economy and Regeneration service which aims to inspire people to consider a career in the aerospace and space industries.

The aerospace industry offers superb career opportunities, with some roles involving global travel, fabulous lifestyles and the chance to work on amazing projects.
We wanted to tell people all about this and in 2020 launched the Skypath magazine. This showcased the diverse roles and career paths in the aerospace, space and air traffic control industries, along with relevant college and university courses. We distributed Skypath to pupils in every South Ayrshire secondary school, as well as careers offices.
Next came the Skypath website, followed in 2021 by the setting up of the Skypath Aero Training Centre with our partners.
Despite the COVID-19 crisis, the aerospace industry is set to grow at Prestwick, with an £80 million investment from the Ayrshire Growth Deal to establish Prestwick as one of the UK’s leading centres for aerospace and space.
